The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has confirmed a break-in at its Secretariat store in Freetown, which houses audited financial documents.
According to the SLFA, the breach was discovered early Monday morning, with initial assessments indicating it may have occurred over the weekend.
The incident has been reported to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which has launched a probe into the matter.
While no suspects have yet been identified, police have invited three Secretariat staff members — including the Finance Officer — for questioning. The individuals are understood to have visited the premises during the weekend.
The football body strongly condemned the act, describing it as “unlawful,” and pledged its full cooperation with investigators to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
“The SLFA assures the public of its commitment to transparency and will provide further updates as the investigation progresses,” the association stated.
The Head of Media and Marketing, Ibrahim Kamara, signed the statement on behalf of the SLFA.
