The SLP has an IMC which manages the PNB, and is tasked to institute measures that address key corruption issues impeding service delivery. The PNB in the South is strengthened to include Regional and Divisional commanders that seat on management, and is supported to continue to undertake sensitization meetings across the Region. In the last two months it has conducted PNB sensitization meetings with personnel at Portoru, Moyamba, Pujehun, and Zimmi.

“We will continue to engage ourselves to bring personnel up to speed to increase service delivery especially at this crucial time when Government expects the best to ensure there is peace and stability, there is sanity at the traffic, smooth operation at the borders and other crossing points, and maximum vigilance to prevent smuggling and apprehend contrabands”, AIG said.

Alimamy Lahai Kamara, Senior Public Education Officer ACC, said the meeting is timely, but stressed that it should be continuous. This is necessary for officers to understand fully their role in the PNB and what it seeks to achieve. (https://rentalsfloridakeys.com/) The Pay No Bribe has an objective of increasing service delivery, curbing professional malpractices, preventing bribery and petty corruption, developing and Instituting policies, and instilling discipline and integrity in the workplace. “It is a preventive, administrative measure to ensure there is people confidence in the SLP, to reposition its image, to sanitize the traffic, to increase vigilance and transparency at the borders, and to enforce accountability and integrity in the operation of TOCU, CDIID, and CID”, the Senior Public Education Officer told Regional and Divisional commanders.

According to Alimamy, the public has been and continues to be informed to report instances of bribery or any form of petty corruption encountered on accessing services of the SLP through the PNB free-line -515 to the ACC. The PNB also targets EDSA, health, education, GUMA/SALWACO. In few than forty-five days, the Commission has received over 1,500 complaints relative to the five MDAs. At a President’s Recovery Priority Governance sector meeting at the ACC office in Bo, the Regional Manager, Samuel Marah, described the figures as impressively encouraging. He noted citizens are making effective use of the PNB.

The Commission is processing the said complaints and will immediately forward them to the respective IMCs for administrative action. Actions could range from dismissal of personnel, suspension, transfer, to withholding of salary as first step to correcting malpractice and malfeasance. Where complaints persist about malpractices occurring at a particular unit within any of the five MDAs, the Commission can decide to investigate and prosecute – the rod approach to address petty corruption and bribery.
