SLPP chairs sessions at African Political Parties Summit

The National Chairman of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa, played a pivotal role at the African Political Parties Summit held in Accra, Ghana.

Representing Sierra Leone’s ruling party, Sir Jimmy chaired high-level session that brought together political leaders, policymakers, and experts from across the continent to deliberate on Africa’s democratic growth, peace, and sustainable development.

Accompanied by the SLPP Secretary-General, Hon. UmaruPara Tarawally, Public Relations Officer Moses Mambu, National Young Generation Leader, Ing. Francis Alpha Kallon, and the Leader of Government Business in Parliament, Hon. Mathew Nyuma, the delegation showcased the party’s commitment to continental solidarity and cooperation. 

Chairman Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa chaired the Internal Governance, Party Financing and Structural Resilience session at the summit where the panelists are, Prof. Roger Koranteng, adviser and Head, Public Sector Governance for the Commonwealth Secretariat, H.E. Martin Ziguele, the former Prime Minister of Central Africa Republic, Prof.Baffour Agyemand Duah, Chief Executive Officer of John A. Kufour Foundation. Bishop Trevor Mwamba, President of the United National Independence Party and Mrs. Grace Ngwafor, member of the National Advisory Council, Social Democratic Front.

Chairman Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa earned serious commendation from participants for underscoring Sierra Leone’s growing voice in African political discourse. 

The Summit concluded with renewed calls for stronger collaboration among political parties to address shared challenges across Africa.
