SLPP presidential candidate Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio and his wife left for the Siaka Stevens Stadium from Calaba Town, east of Freetown.
Maada Bio’s running mate Dr. Chernor Jalloh alongside thousands of supporters left Goderich in the west of Freetown to meet with his boss at the stadium.
According to reports, the stadium was crowded beyond limit but many people left after waiting for at least two hours after Maada Bio was supposed to have arrived.
Chairman of Sierra Leone People’s Party, Dr. Prince Harding when speaking to supporters at the stadium stated that the people who came out during the final campaign in Freetown demonstrated that they are tired of suffering under the current regime and are desirous for change.
“This procession would serve as a warning to the All People’s Congress that come March 7, 2018, the SLPP will be the next government” he said.
Addressing supporters at the stadium, the SLPP presidential candidate, Rtd. Brigadier Julius Maada Bio assured them of victory in the March 7 poll. He noted that the SLPP is looking forward to a peaceful, stress-free and elections devoid of any mal-practice. He appealed to his supporters to remain peaceful, noting that, they have a moral obligation to ensure that Sierra Leone remains peaceful.
Maada Bio called on all Sierra Leoneans to be ready to embrace change, noting that change is already in the air and that it is inevitable.
