According to SNBCC Cordinator, Binta Jalloh the interactive round table business conference was organized with the motive to create business linkages between Sierra Leone and the Netherlands; and also to ensuring a cross fertilization of skills, knowledge that are useful resource to economic growth. Madam Jalloh also said local investors should make use of this opportunity to build good business relationship with the Netherlands which in turn will yield economic development for a brighter Sierra Leone.

Speaking at the event, Abubakarr Bangura who doubles as the CEO, Migration and Development Consultancy and Chairman of the Sierra Leone Central Union in the Netherlands said the main objective of the conference is to identify some business cases or tenders that they will showcase during the Sierra Leone Business Seminar which will take place on the 6th of April 2017 at The Heneiken Experience House in Amsterdam. ‘’This may spark interest of potential companies to do business in Sierra Leone’’ Mr Bangura said.

The Director Office of Diaspora Affairs, Mr. Kallay Musa Conteh explained to local investors and their diaspora counterparts about the activities and mandate of the ODA. He said over the years ODA has been providing an enabling environment for Diaspora investors to do business in the country. He added that his institution has been playing a key role in order to link local entrepreneurs with diaspora investors.

Mr. Sadiq Sillah, chairman of the occasion called on investors to adhere to the rule of law. “Good investment refers to the structures and processes by which companies are directed and controlled’’ said Mr Sillah. He noted that if companies go through the rightful processes and procedures it will enhance accountability and transparency. He said that investment creation will boost economic growth and provides employment opportunities in the country.
