Director and Principal of the College, Emmanuel Junior Modu Stafford told AYV newspaper that the event was meant to showcase theoretical work done by students from various departments including Mass Communications, Tailoring and Dress Making, Catering and Decoration, Arts and Craft, Electricals and Installation, Introductive Technology (IT) and Hair Dressing among other departments; and at the same time, raise fund to support good number of students access quality education, skills and the acquisition of qualifications leading to employment.

At the event Stafford went on, items including country cloths, gara clothing and biddings, food and drinks prepared by the catering department, tracks and other items from the Public Health, Social Work and other departments were on display.

He said SOS Hermann Gmeiner International College and Technical Vocational Institute is a private tertiary education institute is a private technical institute situated at College Road, Goderich, Freetown, Sierra Leone (Next to the Goderich Campus of the Milton Margai College of Education and Technology – MMCET). It was established in February 2017 to deliver innovative, project based practical and vocational study leading to certificates, Diplomas and Higher National Diplomas in various fields of study.

The primary aim of SOS College is to become and outstanding provider of quality technical and higher education in Sierra Leone which will motivate the youth to achieve higher levels of success, develop technical, vocational and academic skills, through an employer and university led course offering in a business-like environment leading to 100% progression of good careers and/or higher education.

This will further help to meet employers’ needs for higher level skills and broadens the offer available to study in Sierra Leone.

In a similar development, at the institution’s Goderich Campus, past weekend orientated over Eighty (80) new students enrolled for the 2017-2018 academic year to offer various courses at the College and Tech. Voc. The new students are now well set to be matriculated in the coming weeks and commence lectures on their respective disciplines.
