SOS supports affected children

National Director of  SOS,  Dr. Prince Cumming  said the donation was just one of the organization mandate in ensuring that children are provided with basic needs at the time of crises, adding that they will try to provide accommodation for few affected children through the Ministry of Social Welfare and that they have accommodate two at the moment.

“We are child focus organization in Sierra Leone we have been operating for the last forty years and we realize that after the mudslide we also decided to be part of the emergency as we have been on the ground in different affected communities.” He added.

Dr. Prince Cummings said the organization will closely monitor the situation of affected children to ensure that the children are supported with the right materials. He reiterated that they would provide constant counseling as a way of keeping their hopes alive.

Chief Saio Dumbuya mentioned that the support provided for the children was very much in place, stating that those were the kind of support they are looking forward to. She furthered that SOS has been with them throughout the time the disaster happened.

She said the meeting with SOS did happen as a result of good things, adding that they would prayer so that they will meet in happiness next time. She added “I also lost my house and everything I had but what should I do? we just have to pray and keep faith.”

 Relatives and different authorities present during the presentation applauded SOS for the tremendous support they have been providing for the children at the wake of the disaster, and they plead with the SOS authorities not to forget them.
