He furthered that, his ministry is very keen on providing such training facility for  not only staff of Super Holdings , but also for others in the various institutions in the country, adding that a collective bargaining agreement legalizes trade unions with the view to protecting, monitoring and further creating an enviable industrial relations.

Idrissa Dumbuya went on to state that the Ministry of Labor and Social Security has reviewed all labor laws to surmount growing contemporary labor issues, coupled in the enhancement of industrial peace for the betterment of the employees and employers.

He encouraged workers to used internal remedial measures to resolve industrial issues, and social dialogue is a positive platform in looking into concerns complains and at the same time serves as an ingredient in reducing social tension and dispute among workers.

Concluding, elaborated on  wide  range of issues bothering on safety of workers, the importance of trade union, the formation of a strong independent workers and employers organization , respect  the fundamental rights and freedom of association, including pertinent issues hinging on the responsibility of workers and employers.

On his part, the Deputy Director of Education of the Sierra Leone Labor Congress, Emmanuel M Kamara a trade union is an dependable insurance policy that protects the interest of workers and also ensure  their rights were not violated by employers with impunity.

He stated that a shop steward is the principal representative of workers in any workplace and his role is to protect and channeled the concerns and the interest of his co-workers.

According to Emmanuel Kamara shop steward should be neutral and acquaint himself with new and old employees of any industry, stating that it is very important for trainees to make good use of the training programme as it seeks to educating and inform them about their rights, responsibilities and obligations to their employers.

He continued that there is a difference between a shop steward and supervisor in any operating industry, including his role and responsibility, stressing that a supervisor is employed by the management of an industry, whiles the shop steward is elected by workers to represent their interests at all times.

Emmanuel Kamara maintained that is very important to join trade union because it advocates workers rights, negotiate terms and conditions of service of workers, including peace at workplaces.
