The move is part of a series of tours planned by the Directorate across the country to help create awareness in citizens and users of the road about the benefits that the road will accrue to the country and to set the records straight in relation to the expected prices.
Addressing stakeholders especially in the transportation and business sectors, Mr.Koroma allayed the fears of citizens that the scary prices which are making the rounds are fake prices and are the make ups of propagandists. He educated them on the correct prices and the manner in which the toll fees are going to be collected on the road.He underscored the significance of the project and the many positives that the project will have to offer to citizens which include the minimization of accidents, the provision of an effective and efficient means of traveling, the creation of job opportunities, the attraction of investment opportunities and the geographical expansion of areas along the route.
Mr.Koroma and team also held meetings with Paramount Chiefs and community stakeholders who were not only sensitized on the toll road project but were implored to use their traditional offices to help create awareness in their subjects so as to eliminate the unnecessary negative interpretations ascribed to the project. The traditional authorities promised to help in that direction.
The team will over the next couple of days visit other districts and regions
