Sierra Leone’s Deputy Minister of Sports, Lawrence Kai Mbayo has tendered an unreserved apology the to the country’s Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, over an allegation he once made against the latter of supporting someone who allegedly bought his diamond illegally.
In a video shared on social media past weekend, the deputy minister called on the vice president to forgive him for the sake of their Sierra Leone People’s Party’s peace and unity.
To date, no official responds is made of the vice president or his office in relation to the apology from the deputy minister.
It can be recalled that after making the allegation again the vice president, the deputy minister was invited to report at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)Headquarters to explain why he was still commenting on the diamond issue while the matter has long been charged to court.
Among the allegations, Kai Lawrence Mbayo accused Vice President Juldeh Jalloh of supporting a Lebanese businessman, Jihad Basma, who the invitee accused of buying the diamond unlawfully.
He also claimed that the diamond that was sold to the Lebanese businessman was his bonafide property.
