Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh enjoyed very rich harvest from his farm in Yemiyah village, Lokomasama, where he provided updates on ongoing agricultural initiatives aimed at enhancing food security and employment through local farming projects.
On X, Dr. Juldeh Jalloh said: “Over the weekend, I joined the Yemiyah community in Lokomasama for the symbolic harvesting of rice at our farm. Very excited to see that a project I initiated a couple of months ago to grow maize is impacting the community in terms of creating jobs and increasing food production; modest contributions to President Bio’s Feed Salone initiative. I later visited the PC Agriculture industrial Onion Farm which is just two kilometers away from the community. PC intend to plant 70 hectares of onions this year with a work force of 65 permanent and 200 seasonal workers. Feed Salone is not only gaining momentum but shaping a ‘New Direction’ in food production in the country”.
