Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has received the National Girls Call to Action Plan, presented to him by Girls Advocacy Development Network Sierra Leone.

The Document, was prepared by young girls and boys during last year’s National Girls Summit in Bo district, encompasses the voices of five hundred young people, highlighting their issues and recommendations to the government, NGOs, stakeholders and development partners.

The Call to Action is not just a document; it is a powerful testament to the voices and aspirations of Sierra Leone’s youth. It reflects their firsthand experiences, challenges and innovative solutions, demanding urgent attention and action.

It is expected that the Document will help bridging the gap between young citizens and decision-makers, ensuring that their voices are heard at the highest levels of government.

It is a call for collaboration, for strategic planning and for a united effort to address the pressing issues faced by our youth.

Girls Advocacy Development Network-SL said: “As we gear up for the 5th Edition of the National Girls Summit in October 2024, this document serves as a blueprint for change, guiding our steps towards creating a more inclusive, equitable, and supportive environment for all young people in Sierra Leone.

“Together, with the support of government bodies, NGOs, stakeholders, and development partners, we can turn these recommendations into actionable policies. We can empower our youth, harness their potential, and drive economic resilience and innovation across our nation. This is a pivotal moment for us all to act decisively and support the future leaders of Sierra Leone”.
