The meeting, according to the chairman was geared towards discussing matters that arose last month, make a disclosure about the financial report and talk about reports from the different committees as stipulated in the Local Government Act.
Mr. Cole explained that the meeting was for council representatives and not for political parties, adding that they decided as council to have the meeting at Tombo because a lot of people do not have the opportunity to attend the meeting in Waterloo due to the distance and transport fare. “Last month, we held the meeting in Goderich,” Cole said, adding that the meeting is held in accordance with council law.
Highlighting some of the challenges they face in their community, Councilor Mamudu Dumbuya of Constituency 110 in Tokeh said scarce pure drinking is a big challenges, adding that they are blessed with well water and river water but do not have abundant pure water for drinking purpose.
According to Dumbuya, Tokeh is a big community, but they lack good schools and qualified teachers to educate the children in the community, citing that they do not have quality schools for both primary and secondary school children like the schools in the central parts of Freetown.
