Trainees were certified in various disciplines ranging from catering, tailoring, hair dressing among others, after intensive and thorough engagement in the respective disciplines.
Programme Coordinator Society for Women and AIDS in Africa Sierra Leone Chapter, Marie Benjamin said their project facilitate the provision of a start-up kits to their graudands at the end of the training session,
A representative from the Nationals AIDS Secretariat, Victor Kamara mentioned that they’ve being working with SWAASL and other NGO’s to capacitate vulnerable girls across the country. He stated that they have been able to source fund from the global funds for HIV for the project, adding that the success of the project could attract more funding for the project.
However, the grandaunts expressed appreciation over the knowledge acquired on the various technical disciplines.
The project was funded by the Global AIDS fund and UNICEF, and the benefited institutions cut across the St Women’s Community education centre, Kombra Training Center, Waterloo, and GISA women’s Development organization among others.
