Handing over the gift of assorted items, Chernor Bah said  Ebola has really disturbed young people in the country more especially young girls who are the most vulnerable set of people in the crisis. He said as a Sierra Leonean he cannot sit back in New York whilst young girls are suffering here without coming to their aid. “That is why I came back home to give my support and restore hope back to the young girls that survived the virus,” he said.

The young philanthropist went on to state he had heard horrible stories about these unfortunate  young girls, most of whom lost their parents and siblings to the disease and as a result,  lost hope as there is nobody to take care of them. “Even basic food to eat is very difficult for them,” he said.

“With my little support, I strongly believe will go a long way to help take care of themselves and their young siblings,” he said.

Receiving the donation which were both food and non-food items including sanitary supplies like chlorine, dettol plus cash money as a starting for them, Geraldine Lamin, a survivor who lost both her parents and elder sisters said she is extremely happy for such a donation from somebody he never knew in his life, adding that she was so grateful for such a gesture.

“I am really short of words. Even when we discharged from the treatment center, the packages we received cannot be compared to what Mr.  Chernor Bah gave us and it shows that he is really a young advocate that cares for young girls in the country,” she said.

She further confessed that things are not really easy for her because she is now responsible for her young siblings and that she is thinking how all of them will go back to school in order to achieve their dreams in the future.

The young girl went on to disclose that she was the only survivor out six of them that contracted the disease. To her, it was  a miracle that happened.
