“Youth, PWDs play critical role in building sustainable communities”- Freetown Deputy Mayor tells discussion panel in Liberia

Moderated a panel on Sustainable Communities in Monrovia,during Monrovia Week yesterday in Liberia, Freetown’sDeputy Mayor, Kweku Lisk emphasised the critical role of young people and Persons Living With Disability in building sustainable communities.

He highlighted that enabling people understand what is needed to achieve sustainability is a crucial step in the process.

Mayor Lisk is in Liberia on the invitation of the Mayor of Monrovia, John-Charuk Siafa. A key highlight of the event is the Monrovia Roundtable, a strategic forum to discuss urban governance, environmental sustainability, and community development, aimed at pushing actionable solutions to the city’s challenges.  

Deputy Mayor Lisk, accompanied by FCC’s Chief Councilor Zainab Conteh, will participate in a panel discussion on Sustainable Communities, where he will share insights from Freetown’s experience emphasising the critical role of community engagement in implementing the Transform Freetown-Transforming Lives Development Plan.
