Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh has said dialogue is the bedrock to national peace and national cohesion, assuring that President Dr. Julius Maada Bio has consented to officially launch the full implementation plan of the tripartite recommendations.
Dr. Sengeh said: “President Dr. Julius Maada Bio has consented to officially launch the full implementation plan of the tripartite recommendations. We are committed to implement all the recommendations”.
Dr. David Moinina Sengeh was speaking at the Townhall Debate held at the Brookfields Hotel in Freetown, to mark Sierra Leone’s historic Presidency of the United Nations Security Council.
In other development, Dr. Sengeh has received an update from the steering committee regarding the implementation of the Tripartite Report recommendations.
On July 29, 2024, the steering committee, consisting of 18 members, including representatives from media and civil society organizations (CSOs), held its inaugural meeting to begin implementing the Cross-Party Committee on Electoral System and Management Bodies Review Report, known as the ‘tripartite report.’
The Chief Minister stated that the meeting aimed to explore strategies for implementing the report’s recommendations. He noted that the terms of reference (TOR) for committee members have been finalized, and a secretariat will be established soon.
He encouraged the committee members to expedite their efforts in preparation for the official launch of the report’s implementation.
