The Minister spent sleepless nights in holding meetings with international media firms in the United Kingdom to map out strategies on how they can intervene in the rebranding process of Sierra Leone and it’s media after Ebola.
Speaking at the meeting in London the CEO and Founder of APO, Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard expressed willingness to work with Sierra Leone in it’s rebranding process.
He said his organization believes in promoting the good Image of Africa because there are lots of good things people don’t know about African Country and their recent transformations.
He said the offer will range from media tools such as press release wire and monitoring services-Africa wire, online press conference, interactive Webcasts, international media interaction, public diplomacy, TV production and distribution and crisis communication.
Mr. Pompigne-Mognard further stated that over the past 3 years they have been in charge of promoting annual meetings of African Development Bank, the New York Forum, the Asian-African Forum, the African Women Economic summit, the African Oil and Power Conference and many more.
He assured the minister that with his leadership in the Ministry of Communication in Sierra Leone, they (APO) will work to promote the good image of Sierra Leone.
Responding, the Minister of Information and Communications Hon. Mohamed Bangura said this is time for the world to know the true story of Sierra Leone and that there are lots of good stories about Sierra Leone that the world is not aware of and there is all need for international Public Relations institution to help in selling the image of Sierra Leone.
He said over the years it is only the bad things about Sierra Leone that have been in the International media the rapid transformation of the country is not been told.
The Young Minister further stated that the role of Sierra Leone’s President on the recent war against Ebola is good story to tell about leadership and their people because the President worked day and night to ensure that the country defeats the Ebola disease.
He said Sierra Leone has one of the best spots in terms of tourism in the world but all that is not in the international domain.
Minister Mohamed Bangura said he is ready to work with any organization in the promotion of Sierra Leone within the globe.
