CEO Transnational presents Prize to Miss Sierra Leone Winners

The Chief Executive Officer of Transnational Dstv Sierra Leone and Capital Radio 104.9, Natalia Abboud has presented Prize to Miss Sierra Leone 2023 Winners at the Country Lodge Hotel on Hill Station in Freetown.

To each of the winners, Natalia presented one full set of Dstv package with full subscription.

In opening the ceremony, Madam Ajara Momah gave the welcome address and Mrs Sophie Johnson introduced the Board Members.

All winning participants were honoured with their trophies and speeches by Dr Fatou Taqi. The Sponsor’s prizes were presented, also. Mrs Isha Mansaray gave the cash prizes.

The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs was represented, and the Minister Mrs. Nabeela Tunis gave a speech.

The Miss Sierra Leone Ltd Board officially presented the prizes to Miss Sierra Leone – Daisy Abdulia, first runner up – Adel Caroline Jusu and other contestants.

The crown was officially handed over to the now-reigning queen, Daisy Princess Abdulai, by Madam Mariama Dumbuya, who presided over this auspicious moment.

AYV’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr Messeh Leone, graced the office ceremony with other distinguished members in attendance. Janneh Amara Bangali gave the Vote of Thanks.

Queen Daisy Abdulai, representing Moyamba district is set to represent Sierra Leone on the international stage at the Miss World after she was crowned the new Miss Sierra Leone at the culmination of the 2023 pageant at the Bintumani Conference Centre on Saturday 21st September, 2023 night.

The event was broadcast live on AYV DStv Ch 399 to audiences worldwide.

Adel Caroline Jusu of Bo district placed as the first runner-up and Mabinty Mansaray of Koinadugu district was the second runner-up.

The winner took home a brand new car, a substantial cash prize and a monthly stipend for an entire year and will represent Sierra Leone on the international stage at the Miss World.

This auspicious occasion aligned very much with the theme of “a Healthy Environment in a World of Beauty, Peace, and Integrity.”

The Miss Sierra Leone 2023 competition involved contestants from each of the districts, with a view to select a district representative, culminating in the national Miss Sierra Leone pageant. The entire process was transparent and was broadcast across media platforms.

The Miss Sierra Leone Limited is a not-for-profit company with the primary objective of organising national competitions to select a beauty queen for the country.

The organisation has been credited for it work, in showcasing the strength, beauty, and intelligence of women in Sierra Leone, including for supporting the winner in her charitable work and being able to serve a positive role model for young women in the country, inspiring them to become responsible and respectable citizens.

Miss Sierra Leone Limited was formed in 2001 and had its first pageant the same year, after a twelve-year hiatus, the company had a rebirth and organised more and improved pageants in 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2019, all these events were acknowledged as the best entertainment events of the years in which they were hosted.

These pageants held over these years crowned Miss Margeret Murray, Miss Aminata Bangura, Miss Sarah Laura Tucker and Miss Enid Jones Boston (present) as Miss Sierra Leone respectively.

Miss Sierra Leone 2019 Enid Jones Boston represented Sierra Leone at the Miss World Beauty pageant in the United Kingdom on 14th December 2019. She is the third crowned Miss Sierra Leone to compete on the Miss World competition and she won a medal for courage and her performance in a team with other contestants.
