In a gesture of support and inclusivity, the Chief Minister of Sierra Leone, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, and his wife, Mrs. Kate Krontiris Sengeh, have donated an elevator to the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) National Secretariat.

The announcement was made during the SLPP National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held at the Secretariat on January 18, 2025.

The elevator, once installed, will accommodate up to 10 people, with a weight capacity of 750 kilograms or more with a complete backup electricity supply system in the case there’s a power outage, marking a significant improvement in accessibility for the party’s headquarters.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Sengeh emphasized that the donation reflects their commitment to complementing the transformative leadership of the SLPP National Leader, President Dr. Julius Maada Bio. “H.E. Dr. Bio has not only transformed the SLPP’s human resources but also its infrastructure,” Dr. Sengeh stated.

He further highlighted the principles of “Radical Inclusion that guided their decision, ensuring the party’s facilities are accessible to everyone, regardless of age, disability, or other challenges. “Inspired by the leadership of the National Leader and our belief in leaving no one behind, my wife and I made this contribution to enhance the inclusivity and functionality of our party headquarters,” Dr. Sengeh added.

The donation is expected to strengthen the SLPP’s infrastructure and underscore its commitment to creating a more inclusive and accommodating environment for all its members and stakeholders, especially the aged.
