Freetown City Council (FCC) said it notes public concern about the current issues at the Kissy Bomeh Dumpsite resulting from equipment challenges, adding that its front end loader was involved in a serious accident and has consequently been non-functional.

The Council said rental options for other front end loaders were not readily available leading to a build-up of waste at the dumpsite.

However, the Council said: “We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to Freetonians and reassure the public that we are working to urgently resolve this unfortunate situation. This incident does not reflect our commitment to maintaining a clean city.
