In a decisive action against drug-related offenses, the Kambia Police Division, in collaboration with various stakeholders, conducted a symbolic burning of a significant quantity of dried green leaves suspected to be Kush and Cannabis Sativa.
The event took place today at the Kambia Police Divisional Headquarters, following weeks of intensified surveillance, raids, and patrols targeting drug sales and consumption within the district.
Local Unit Commander Chief Superintendent of Police Murana Eric Kamara, alongside military personnel, journalists, civil society representatives, traditional rulers, and other law enforcement officials, observed the ceremony in a secure and respectful environment.
The community expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Kambia Police Division under Commander Kamara. Local stakeholders and partners pledged to enhance information sharing and cooperation with the police to combat the illicit sale and use of harmful drugs in Kambia district.
The symbolic burning reinforces the commitment of law enforcement agencies to ensure a drug-free environment for the community.
