In his declaration statement to the press, Alhaji Sesay said: “with humility and respect, I wish to formally declare for the position of SLPP Regional Chairman, South and request your support”.

The SLPP Bo District Chairman, Alhaji Kanja Sesay went on to say he is seeking elevation to the regional office of the party having worked assiduously with others to politically stabilize the district and protect the collective interests of the party which was hitherto a target for opponents.

He also said: “I am satisfied that I have provided the required leadership to the point of our gaining national political power. Bo is now safe and no longer very delicate, at least for the next few years”, Alhaji Kanja Sesay said in his declaration statement.

Alhaji Kanja Sesay, a senior SLPP executive is highly respected within and outside the party for his organizational ability and respect for the ordinary citizen. He has been SLPP Bo District Chairman since 2010.
