One of Sierra Leone’s top Cosmetic Makeovers, Mary Yei Yongai has been endorsed as the new Guinness World Records Title Holder for the Most Cosmetic Makeover in 24 hours.

This was communicated yesterday by the Records Management Team of the Guinness World Records.

The Team said: “We are thrilled to inform you that your application for most cosmetic makeovers in 24 hours (one artist) has been successful and you are now the Guinness World Records Title Holder. You can now buy your Record Holder Certificate at the GWR Store and visit the Record Holder Zone, where you can buy record holder certificates, frames and other merchandise exclusive to record holders. Congratulations, you are Officially Amazing!”

Mary is currently enrolled at the Africa Young Voices (AYV) Media Empire Academy with over twenty University students going through rigorous training on credible, factual, independent and balanced journalism.

In a groundbreaking feat of skill and endurance, Mary Yei Yongai shattered a nearly two-decade-old record for the Most Cosmetic Makeovers in 24 Hours.

Her remarkable achievement, which took place at the Bintumani car park in Freetown, Sierra Leone, garnered support from thousands both locally and globally.

Yongai’s journey began with a flurry of activity as she completed an astounding 100 cosmetic makeovers within the allotted time frame, surpassing the previous record set by Martha Tilaar at the Kelapa Gading Mall in Jakarta, Indonesia, back in 2005.

Supported by a legion of fellow Sierra Leoneans, Yongai’s tireless efforts saw her transform the faces of 50 individuals before the stroke of midnight on the first day of her ambitious endeavor.

For Sierra Leone, a nation with fewer appearances in the Guinness Book of Records compared to its African counterparts, Yongai’s triumph represents a moment of national pride and showcases the talent and determination of its people on the global stage.

Reflecting on her accomplishment, Yongai expressed her desire to inspire young makeup artists in Sierra Leone to dream big and believe in themselves.

Her record-breaking feat received widespread support from local artists, online celebrities, and admirers who rallied behind her at the Bintumani car park.
