Sierra Leone’s National U-17 Male Team, the Sierra Stars, have left the country for Senegal via Guinea as they begin their journey to the WAFU-A U-17 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying Tournament.
The tournament is set for Dakar, Senegal, from 7–20 September 2026, with Sierra Leone travelling with a 32-member delegation made up of 20 players, eight technical staff and four officials.
Placed in Group A, the Sierra Stars will open their campaign against The Gambia on Monday, 7 September at 7:00 PM.
They will then take on hosts Senegal on 10 September at 7:00 PM, before wrapping up the group stage against Mauritania on 13 September at 4:00 PM.
The young Leone Stars now turn their focus to the regional stage, with qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations firmly in sight.
