Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mohamed Rahman Swaray, has engaged Heads of Chancery across Sierra Leone’s diplomatic missions abroad in a virtual meeting aimed at strengthening coordination, accountability and performance within the country’s Foreign Service.

The meeting, held today from Accra, Ghana, focused on communicating the Minister’s priorities and aligning diplomatic missions with Sierra Leone’s foreign policy direction and national development aspirations.

Minister Swaray emphasised the need to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation, advance economic diplomacy, attract investment, enhance diaspora engagement and promote professionalism across diplomatic missions.

He also highlighted the critical role of Heads of Chancery in ensuring effective institutional coordination, prudent resource management and the delivery of measurable results.

The engagement follows earlier consultations with Sierra Leone’s Ambassadors and Heads of Diplomatic Missions, as the Minister seeks to build a more cohesive, responsive and results-oriented Foreign Service.

Swaray reaffirmed his commitment to advancing President Julius Maada Bio’s vision and strengthening Sierra Leone’s international standing through purposeful, coordinated and accountable diplomacy.
