East End Lions Executive Chairman, Ambassador Anthony Junior Navo, joined senior government officials and football administrators at the Southern Arena in Bo on Sunday for the club’s Unity Cup encounter against Bo Rangers.

Ambassador Navo was accompanied by Chief Minister David Moinina Sengeh and Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President Babadi Kamara during the high-profile fixture, which brought together key stakeholders in Sierra Leonean football.

The Unity Cup encounter served as a pre-season fixture ahead of the 2026/2027 football season, while also providing an opportunity for football stakeholders to engage on the role of the sport in promoting unity, healthy competition and community development.

Meanwhile, East End Lions Football Club has completed the construction of a new artificial-turf football pitch at the Trade Centre, marking another major investment in the club’s sporting infrastructure under the leadership of Ambassador Anthony Junior Navo.

The newly completed facility is expected to serve as East End Lions’ home venue during the 2026/2027 football season, which is scheduled to kick off on October 10, 2026.

The project is being viewed as an important step in the club’s efforts to improve facilities for its players and establish a dedicated home ground.

The investment also forms part of a broader vision to strengthen East End Lions’ infrastructure and provide players with an improved environment for training and competitive football.

The completion of the pitch has attracted positive reactions from football supporters and members of the public, with several commending the club’s leadership for delivering the project.

Football commentator Salone Tok praised Ambassador Navo’s leadership, saying the project represents the fulfilment of a commitment made by the Executive Chairman.

Similarly, Abdulai Kargbo described the development as a sign of progress, while Kushe Sierra Leone Football commended Ambassador Navo for what it described as his vision and commitment to the development of East End Lions and football in Sierra Leone.

The new Trade Centre facility is expected to give the “Killers” a dedicated home venue as they prepare for the new season and seek to strengthen their competitive campaign.

For East End Lions, the completion of the pitch represents another milestone in the club’s development and adds to its growing investment in football infrastructure under Ambassador Anthony Junior Navo’s leadership.
