Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance, Alhaji Foday Mansaray said that Statistics Sierra Leone has been an important institution to the government of Sierra Leone and international organizations.  He noted that the institution has been meeting its mandate to providing accurate data for the government as well as international partners. He encouraged staff to work assiduously, in order for them to maintain the established standard of the institution.

The minister mentioned that World Bank is ready to give a facelift to the institution with five million dollar, adding that the government is interested in the operations of Statistics Sierra Leone.

Acting Statistician General at the Statistics Sierra Leone, Andrew Bob Johnny said the future of the institution has been handed to some directors. He promised to work effectively with his current team in order to ensure efficiency and institutional boost.

Andrew Bob Johnny stressed that the institution needs the political support to meet it mandate for which it was establish. He made a general plea to the management and staff of the institution to turn to a new chapter in the transformation of the organization.

Chairman-Statistics Sierra Leone Council, Dr. Sullay Kamara mentioned that the future of the institution happened to be in the hands of the younger staff at the office, as he admonished staff to work collectively.
