In preparation for the upcoming commemoration to mark the fifth anniversary of the impactful “Hands Off Our Girls” campaign, First Lady Dr. Fatima Maada Bio convened a strategic planning meeting with key representatives from the entertainment industry.

The meeting aimed to collaboratively plan on celebrating this 5th milestone. The first lady has always harnessed the influential reach of the entertainment sector in raising awareness against Sexual and Gender Based Violence.

Whilst recognizing the pivotal role of entertainment in effective advocacy, the First Lady expressed gratitude for the continuous involvement of Sierra Leone entertainers.

The meeting discussed strategies to leverage various art forms to even further amplify the campaign’s core message and thus engage a broader audience.

This initiative reflects a concerted effort to utilise the creative influence of the entertainment industry in advancing the cause of gender equality and safety for women and girls in Sierra Leone.

In another development, in a bid to galvanize diverse women’s groups for the upcoming “Hands Off Our Girls” fifth anniversary, the first lady convened a strategic planning meeting. Representatives from Women’s Forum Sierra Leone, Women in the Media, the Police Wives Association, and the Women’s Premier League Board joined forces, bringing valuable perspectives and expertise to the fight against gender-based violence.

The First Lady, expressing gratitude for their unwavering support, emphasized the power of collective action in advancing gender equality and creating a safer future for all girls and women.

This collaborative effort marks a crucial step towards amplifying the “Hands Off Our Girls” message and ensuring its transformative impact continues to reach every corner of Sierra Leone.
