He said his action was also premeditated and that initially when the three counts of larceny by servant were put to him on 30 January 2017 before Justice John Bosco Allieu of the High Court of Sierra Leone, he pleaded guilty to all charges against him before the matter was reassigned to him for further adjudication.

Justice Gooding also informed the court that such offences, to which Alvin pleaded guilty, were very serious and that he was entrusted with a position of trust, but that he abused it, and such action had become continuous occurrences in Sierra Leonean.

According to the learned judge, the convict purported to have deposited the aforementioned amount in Sea Coach Express account at the Zenith Bank in Freetown, but that after he was audited, the auditors found out that such amount was never deposited into Sea Coach Express account at Zenith Bank in Freetown.

Alvin Valentine Massaquoi’s indictment indicated that while working as bar salesman at the Sea Coach Express at Aberdeen in Freetown, he stole nine million, seven hundred and eighty nine thousand leones, between the date of 1 April 2016 and on 30 April 2016, in the Freetown judicial district in the Republic of Sierra Leone.

The indictment further disclosed that on the 16 March 2016, the convict was transferred to the bar section at Sea Coach Express, but that at the end of the same March, he woefully failed to reports sales, which prompted official of Sea Coach Express to launch an audit into  his activities.

It was also written on the face of the indictment that the convict also stole six million one hundred and thirty eight thousand leones; two million eight hundred and ninety five thousand leones, including six million one hundred thirty and eight thousand leones, while working as bar salesman at the Sea Coach Express at Aberdeen in the far west of Freetown.
