Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education (MBSSE) has confirmed that 163,997 candidates have been successfully cleared and submitted to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) following a nationwide verification exercise.
According to the Ministry, the verified candidates constitute the official list approved for uploading onto the BRS portal.
In a public notice, MBSSE encouraged all school leaders to immediately begin uploading the names of cleared candidates while ongoing efforts continue to review and correct the records of unmatched candidates.
The Ministry disclosed that 55,174 candidates were initially flagged as unmatched due to discrepancies including incorrect records, duplication of entries, and incomplete information.
However, it further revealed that the Government has already resolved and cleared 19,505 candidates from a broader pool of 74,682 previously unmatched candidates, demonstrating progress in the verification and reconciliation process.
Education authorities assured stakeholders that the review process remains active to ensure that all eligible candidates are properly validated and uploaded in time for examination procedures.
The Ministry reiterated its commitment to maintaining accuracy, transparency, and fairness in the management of examination records nationwide.
