Mr. Kabba’s marriage with his estranged former wife, now Minister of Lands, Country Planning and the Environment, Diana Konomanyi, was terminated less than a year after they tied the knot, with the latter claiming the former had lied about his relationship status.

The opposition stalwart claims he had done nothing wrong and insist charges of bigamy and perjury brought by the state are political.

The case, which commenced in the High Court on 16 March, 2016 following a preliminary investigation by a magistrate, has been adjourned twice now without any headway.

The accused’s travel documents have been confiscated by the court as part of bail conditions, thus he cannot return to the United States where he is based.

The bail condition also includes Le100 million bond, plus one surety, who is a property owner in Freetown.
