Ambassador Yansaneh went on to state that “in their light of the myriad alleged cases of electoral fraud perpetuated during the conduct of the 7th March, 2018 elections – an issue that is now the subject of police investigation – which have been raised by political parties, including the SLPP; and your institution’s admission that it deviated from the legally prescribed steps and process for the tallying and processing of election results which should start at the District Tally Centers, I wish to inform you that our party has taken a decision to abide by the provisions of section 94 of the Public Elections Act of 2012 which provides for district tallying and processing of results.”

He added that he would like to reiterate that “we (APC) would not be party to any act that will violate that provision and undermine the credibility and integrity of the presidential runoff election slated for 27th March, 2018.

He further advised NEC “to revert to the steps provided for in law for the tallying and processing of the runoff presidential election results, which coincidentally was used in the 2007 and 2012 elections.
