“Please come and take me to the hospital as I am dying slowly of my pains,” Abibatu cried when speaking to AYV.

She added that they visit hospitals for treatment; doctors keep telling them that they find no sickness in her. She however noted that she has been a beggar in the streets of Freetown just earn money so she can seek hospital treatment.

“For the past three months I have experienced blockage and am not even seeing my menstrual cycle as a woman since birth,” Abibatu said.

According to Fatmata Kargbo the condition of her daughter started after her birth as she started showing signs of swelling around her neck, noting that she took her to traditional healers in the province as people’ advised her but that the sickness still continued affecting her daughter.

“People have been provoking and mocking my child when they see her on the street,” she lamented.

She also noted that one of the nurses advised her to find money to take Abibatu to a specialized hospital to do x-ray to know what is wrong with her but that unfortunately she has not been able to raise any money for her treatment.

“Please I am calling on the government or humanitarians to help save my child’s life,” she pleaded.
