Speaking to this medium yesterday Monday, Director Public Affairs at NASSIT, Osman F. Koroma said the social media circulation is totally fake, untrue, unfounded and one that is aimed to bring the reputable name of the trust into disrepute.
Explaining further, Mr. Koroma said the amount in circulation on social media is the outstanding arrears owed by government on behalf of its workers since April 2015 and not an amount withdrawn from the Trust’s coffers as purported by the fake social media circulations.
He said the actually amount is Le219 Billions which according to him the current government has expressed strong commitment towards settling the said amount.
“NASSIT has not in any one time lend or given out monies to any governments as it has been propelled on social media.” Koroma reemphasized.
Explaining further on NASSIT’s financial strength, Koroma said currently, the Trusts can boast of having over Le1.4 Trillions as reserve in its coffers and has been meeting all pensions of its pensioners.
