According to the Country Manager they appointed their partners Global Port Training from Belgium for them to customize training on the equipment which had been delivered since May 2018.

“Our training team is on site and they are going to stay here till September 2018 and they are going to train Sierra Leoneans on using STS cranes and RTG,” Kokan told the press.

Thirty-six people according to the Country Manager were shortlisted; all being 100% Sierra Leonean, noting that they do not want to include other nationalities because they believe in the local content policy as well as believing in the capability of young Sierra Leoneans to perform well.

“I am extremely proud that we are training 35 Sierra Leoneans to be in charge and control expensive equipment that costs millions of US Dollars,” Kokan said.

According to the Head of Operations Abubakarr Sesay the purpose of the training is to capacitate Sierra Leoneans in controlling the equipment, noting that the equipment is modem crane that can make work easier for the country as one of the company’s commitments.
