According to the mother of the victim, she accompanied her daughter to the police station when she realized that her daughter’s sex organ had been tampered with by the accused person Johnny Lavalie.

The charge sheet indicates that the alleged offence was committed when the Sierra Leone People’s Party organized a night carnival at Solo B. Drive in Goderich in the outskirts of Freetown.

Police alleged that on the night of the said carnival the victim’s aunt passed the night with her daughter at the same No. 13 Sarah Lane residence, Goderich in the outskirts of Freetown.

The victim told police that she was sleeping together with her aunt’s daughter, when she felt a heavy weight on top of her chest, and later saw the accused person, Johnny Lavalie penetrating her sex organ.

Police Sergeant Musu Kpulum is prosecuting while Lawyer A. K. Musa is defending the accused person.

Magistrate Abdul Sheriff adjourned the matter to Monday 20 August 2018.

In another development, one Mustapha Suma reappeared before Abdul Sherriff presiding over the Freetown Magistrate Court No.1 at Siaka Steven Street for the offence of Sexual Penetration of a Child below the age of eighteen years.

The accused person allegedly committed the said offence on 21st June 2018, at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) Drive at Goderich along the Freetown-Peninsular Road.

The charge sheet alleged that the nineteen year-old accused person Mustapha Suma engaged in sexual penetration of a four years old child, which negates section (19) of the Sexual Offences Act of 2012.
