Sensi Tech Innovation Hub is encouraging entrepreneurs, creative and digital enterprises to apply free for this training course as long as you are a start-up business or someone with a strong business ideabased in Sierra Leone.  The Fire Starter business training course is a project that’s been created to accelerate Sierra Leone SMEs through capital investment and business support.  Sensi Tech Hub is well positioned to achieve this as an established business Innovation hub which has been supporting Sierra Leonean businesses with access to capital, computer courses, business support and mentoring for the past two years.

Focus of Training:

Using presentation to deliver the course, businesses/entrepreneurs should only apply to the Fire Starter training course if they can commit to working at least 20 hours weekly on their business and it is essential that you can attend the 12 weeks training for a minimum of two days a week at Sensi Tech Hub in Aberdeen. The 12 weeks training course will offer you the opportunity to work with local and international professionals on developing and growing your business on topics such as: business plans and mentoring.

By the end of the 12 weeks programme each business/entrepreneur will have produced a professional business plan to forward their business venture plus a certificate saying that you’ve completed the Fire Starter twelve-weeks training course.  This certificate will serve as evidence that the businesses/entrepreneurs have acquired skills and knowledge necessary to manage a business.

Why the Fire Starter Programme?

This year the Fire Starter training course is even bigger with Sensi Tech Innovation Hub partnering with British Council West Africa Creative Hubs programme to bring you experts trainers from Nesta in the UK who will conduct training on Digital Enterprises.  The Fire Starter Business Training Course is funded by Comic Relief UK through Sensi’s Fire Starter Grants Programme for which our main partner is Indigo Trust UK.

Amongst the outcomes, the training course aims to deliver opportunity for funding and networking because without funding for your great idea it may never leave your bedroom not even with training and one of the most rewarding aspects of life is meeting people and sharing opportunities for learning, growth and success.  For businesses/entrepreneurs, it’s almost essential to acquire a network of good people who’ll bring advice, connections and more to everything you do, whilst keeping you grounded and providing a pathway through the many setbacks you’ll encounter.
