In his brief statement prior to the verification of the Vice President, the Director General said among other things that the Update, Verification and Registration exercise was solely funded by the Government of Sierra Leone.

He said the exercise started on the 10th September and will end on 24th September, stating that the cooperation regarding the ongoing exercise was good.

He said the Registration Team was favoured with the opportunity to verify the President, who told them to go and verify his Vice.

The Vice President after his verification thanked NCRA Registration Team for the ongoing Update, Verification and Registration and said the exercise was critical because it will help to establish fact about figures of those employed by the Government and also ensure that citizens were covered, registered and verified.

He said NCRA’s role was critical when it comes to updating the voter’ list and encouraged the Team to be patient because Sierra Leone is not a country of documentation.

The VP further said after the conduct of elections every five year, people tend to lose their voter ID cards, noting that verification could be done by other means and documentation and not the Voters ID card only.
