This item deals with the fifteenth report of the Committee on Appointment and the Public Service.
It is another version of the America Supreme Court Judge confirmation-type hearing it seems, but will the APC upset President Julius Maada Bio’s proposed appointees even though they were part of their confirmation hearings just the other day, or is it just a political stunt by the APC, is the question many people are asking.

Although item No. 3 on the Order Paper is on the ‘Commission of Inquiry (Examination Inquiry and Investigation) Notice (3), 2018. The Constitution of Sierra Leone, 1991 (Act No.6 of 1991) Constitutional Instrument No.67 of 2018, which has been laid (or relaid?) by the Leader of Government Business Hon. Sidi Tunis and also laid agreements (Cote D’Ivoire, Liberia-Sierra Leone-Guinean Interconnection Project) and Cote D’Ivoire,Liberia-Sierra Leone-Guinean Interconnection Project…)

Apparently, an announcement by Mr. Speaker, (Right Honorable Dr. Abass Chernor Bundu) is expected as Item No.6 on the Order Paper. What will it be about is unknown, but speculations abound that it is going to give a green light on the debate of the Commission of Inquiry among other things.

It seems as if the APC has already inflicted a political blow on the governing SLPP on this very first day (by discouraging a mammoth number of Lower and Upper Gallery visitors that were eager to cheer their appointees but now in a prolonged hours of adjournment) on the resumption of the House.
