YADI’s Executive Director Amadu Wurie Barrie said Sierra Leone will not have a firm national stability and cohesiveness if its people do not regard religion.

“If Sierra Leone is to start enjoying national development, its people must regard religion and moral values.” Amadu stated.

He furthered that YADI is a non-partisan organization that has been and will continue to work with any government that is in power.

To support the flagship program of government, during the holy month of Ramadan, YADI through its Ramadan Charity Project helped build a Quran memorization centre in Bo city.

The National Islamic Award was a mixed bunch of diverse inspirational and motivational poems, Islamic songs, dramas which was presented in an Islamic style.

The aim of the award was to recognize Muslims from diverse spheres in Sierra Leonean who will inspire and motivate Sierra Leonean youth as role models.

Many awards were given to recognize different Muslims in Sierra Leonean. The awards were in two categories in which some are honorary awards and also awards in which people were nominated and voted for.
