The presentation took place at the Chinese Embassy during a courtesy call on the Ambassador by the Minister on 9th August, 2016. Presenting the certificate of appreciation, the youth Minister noted with delight the role China has played and still continues to play in providing support to his Ministry and other sectors. He said that his Ministry has enjoyed colossal technical support from China which in fact had culminated into the sending of contingent of Youth activists to China for seminars. He pleaded with the Ambassador to continue to think Sierra Leone and the youth ministry.

Receiving the award, the Chinese Ambassador, Zhao Dambo, praised the Minister for his thoughtfulness and sense of appreciation and maturity noting that  China and Sierra Leone have strong bilateral ties dating back to independence. China, he promised, will forever remain committed to helping the Ministry fully actualize the Youth Village Project which can serve as a blueprint for youth empowerment and development. He reiterated President Koroma’s commitment to the youth and described him as a lover of young people on the basis of which the President appointed such a dynamic youth to head the youth ministry.  With employment being a key to any country’s stability, he assured the minister of his continued support in that direction.
