The theme of the 2016 International Youth Day is “The Road to 2030: Eradicating Poverty and Achieving Sustainable Consumption and Production”.

Here in Sierra Leone the day was marked in Kambia District, Northern Sierra Leone where almost every stakeholder including the country’s Vice President, Victor Bockarie Foh was present.

According those who were in Kambia, the Vice President was a ‘disappointment’ to the youth of Sierra Leone. The Vice President changed the venue, delayed the commemoration of the day and uses the forum to let out his personal political aspirations.

The action of Vice President Foh was seen as betrayal to the proclamation of his Boss, President Ernest Bai Koroma. President Koroma while campaigning for his second inning proclaimed that he would rule Sierra Leone together with the youth. Many political pundits believe that the words of President Koroma are yet to be translated to reality.

The youth are disappointed in the Ruling All People’s Congress (APC) Party.
