According to Mr. Kambey, the respective spouses and children of the convicts miss their husbands and fathers and want to reunite with them because since they were taken away several years ago, they have been suffering for want of paternal love and care.

According to Mr. Kambey, the five men Issa Sesay, Morris Kallon, Augustine Gbow, Santigie Bobor Kanu, and Ibrahim Bazzy Kamara are currently incarcerated in a Rwanda. He added that even though it is true that these men tried their best to bring peace to Sierra Leone through their involvement in the Lome Peace Accord and other peace overtures during the years of strife, it is unfortunate that they were paid by incarcerating them.

He maintained that it is true that it was the Special Court of Sierra Leone sentenced the five men; but added that it was the government of Sierra Leone that agreed with the United Nations to set up the Special Court which found the men guilty and sentenced them to imprisonment.

According to Mr. Kembay, they in the RUFO consider Issa Sesay, Morris Kallon, Augustine Gbow, Santigie Bobor Kanu, and Ibrahim Bazzy Kamara as their leaders, adding that they would appreciate it if the government were to allow them to return to Sierra Leone and be part of the current peace and national cohesion processes.
