Since the demolition of the property at the said address more than 200 residents have been left homeless and in deplorable conditions.

Speaking to AYV head Musa Koroma who is co-owner of the property said the property in question at 67 Freetown Lumley Road belongs to the Koroma family but that Adham Mackie who is a wealthy man sided with Police to unlawfully take possession of their property irrespective of the fact that Magistrate Bangura had ruled in favor of the Koroma family as owners of the property in question and not the Mackie family.

He added that the property demolished consisted of more than 100 rooms, adding that Supt. Murana told them on arrival at the scene that he had received an order to demolish the property, and went ahead to carry out his order despite please that the property belonged Koroma’s father whom he inherited it from.

“We have an issue that ended in 2017. Before that we went to court in 2015-2016 wherein the court ordered that Mackie should stay at Spur Road while we should stay at our own place at 67 Freetown Lumley Road,” he said.

According to him, Mackie told him that his (Mackie’s) father had bought the property from the Koroma family’s father for more than forty years now but that Mackie was unable to show authentic document to his claim.

All efforts to have the sides of the Police and Mr. Mackie were futile but we shall keep on trying.
