Foundation for Development is also planning to plant vegetables on over another hundred acres of land. The move is part of the organization’s activities to actualizing it mission of making Sierra Leone self sufficient and independent.

Speaking to locals, the Executive Director of Foundation for Development Tholoma Sumah, called on the locals to revive farming for self sufficiency and independence.

Sumah said agriculture can help them eradicate hunger and poverty which are rampant today in Sierra Leone. He assured the farmers of more support. Sumah revealed that the organization is currently operating in other areas across the country. According to him, this is to ensure food sufficiency in the shortest possible time.

Locals thanked the Foundation for Development and called for more supports. According to them, they have always wanted to farm but they have not been getting support. Some of the problems they highlighted are lack of finance, tools, food and seeds.
