Following a two-day discussion between Parliament and CSOs drawn from the each district in Sierra Leone and supported by UNDP, the outcome of those highly deliberative and interactive discussions resulted in the signing of a joint communiqué by Parliament and CSOs in the country at the New Brookfields Hotel in Freetown.

The Leader of Government Business, Hon. Mathew Sahr Nyuma and Abu Brima, Executive Director of NMJD signed the joint communiqué on behalf of Parliament and CSOs respectively.

The aim of the workshop was to enhance public trust in the workings of Parliament and how CSOs could provide evidence-based inputs in the legislative process and to promote public participation and understanding about the roles and responsibilities of Members of Parliament among others.
