The Inter-Religious Council of Sierra Leone (IRC-SL) has engaged the leadership of the All People’s Congress (APC) Party on a fact-finding mission and a significant move towards addressing the political deadlock that followed the June 24, 2023 elections.

The delegation, led by the Council’s Vice President, Alhaji Murtada Sesay, engaged with APC’s National Executive at the party’s headquarters on Old Railway Line, Brookfield in Freetown.

National Secretary General of the Council, Reverend Jesse Forna said the Council’s commitment to understanding the concerns of the APC party firsthand.

He said the Council has already engaged with key institutions such as the Office of National Security (ONS) and the Elections Commission Sierra Leone (EC-SL), and that this interaction with the APC aims to provide a comprehensive perspective on the ongoing political impasse in the country.

In attendance at the meeting were the APC’s National Executive, headed by National Chairman Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray and Deputy National Chairman Amb. Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh and they all assured their steadfastness regarding the current political impasse.
