The committee room was jam-packed with senior NATCOM and Information Ministry staff, alongside journalists and parliamentarians. 

 The NATCOM team led by Director General, Senesie Kallon, accordingly provided answers to questions posed by parliamentarians with regards the stewardship of the commission in regulating the telecommunications service providers in the country.

The parliamentarians wanted to know what NATCOM was doing to ensure compliance on the part of mobile operators in relations to the provision of quality network and cyber security.

The NATCOM team cited several instances in which it has held consultations and even punished defaulting companies on crimes of extortion and provision of poor network.

According to the NATCOM team, they would reserve the option of revoking license of defaulting operators for last, as the attendants’ factors are enormous.  

The issue of a company called Onlime that was licensed by NATCOM but put on hold to operate was also brought up by the parliamentarians and effectively answered by NATCOM.

According to NATCOM, the company would only be allowed to operate when it regularizes its operations status quo with NATCOM and companies like Africell and Airtel.

The NATCOM Commissioners left parliament with their heads held high.
