Youth minister holds first Sectoral Leadership meeting

Sierra Leone’s Youth Minister, Mohamed Orman Bangura has presided over the first youth sectoral leadership meeting for 2024.

This gathering brought together key figures in the government, including the Deputy Minister Youth Affairs Patrick Michaelson Gibrilla, the National Youth Commissioner Ahmed Atata Mansaray, the Presidential Youth Adviser Desmond Pessima, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth, and other senior officials.

During the meeting, the Youth Minister took the opportunity to outline his strategic leadership and direction for the youth sector’s development. He emphasised the importance of placing the constituents at the center of all initiatives, with a focus on empowerment, employability, skills development and employment.

The minister’s vision for the youth sector was inspiring and motivated all in attendance to actively engage in devising collaborative initiatives.

Deputy Minister of Youth also made a statement, expressing his commitment to supporting the youth agenda. He highlighted the need for comprehensive and inclusive strategies that address the diverse needs of young people across the nation.

The National Youth Commissioner echoed these sentiments, emphasising the importance of wide consultations to ensure that the voices of the youth are heard and their concerns are addressed.

He stressed the need for a collaborative approach, involving all stakeholders in the decision-making process.

The Presidential Youth Adviser contributed valuable insights and recommendations during the meeting. His statement emphasised the significance of providing opportunities for the youth to thrive and succeed in various fields.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth also made a statement, affirming their commitment to supporting the minister’s vision.
